Sports that are not part of the HKIS athletics program may obtain permission to compete on behalf of HKIS for ISSFHK and HKSSF competitions by:
- Completing the SSS formMeeting with the Activities Office to review the process for your sportThe following guidelines must be followed:
- The HKIS roundel should be used on uniforms for School Sponsored Sports. All uniform designs should be sent to tloo@hkis.edu.hk for approval. The athletics shield should not be used on unforms for SSS teams.To ensure a fair and inclusive selection process for the HKIS team, the following steps must be taken:
- Announcement in Divisional Newsletters: Provide a clear and engaging call for participants to be published in the divisional newsletters. This should include information about the team’s objectives, skills required, and the selection criteria.Eligibility Criteria: Clearly outline the skills and qualifications necessary for participation. This can include specific competencies, prior experience, or commitment levels expected from team members.Tryout and Selection Process: Organize tryouts that are accessible to all interested students. Provide multiple dates and times to accommodate different schedules. Appoint a qualified resource to evaluate participants based on set criteria. This ensures fairness and transparency in the selection process.
- Any communication about SSS teams can be shared in divisional newsletters by request. SSS team sports will not be included in the HKIS athletics seasonal round up communications.
