League Eligibility

Our local conferences are age-based leagues.

The HKSSF uses the designation A, B, or C grade.

  • A grade team is for those students who were born on or after January 1st 2006
  • B1 grade team is for those students who were born on or after January 1st 2009
  • B2 grade team is for those students who were born on or after January 1st 2010
  • C grade team is for those students who were born on or after January 1st 2011 (MSsports)

The ISSFHK uses the designation U20, U16, U14

  • Under 16
    U16 will include any student registered on a full time basis who is under age 16 asof August 01 of the current academic year.
  • Under 20
    U20 will include any student registered on a full time basis who is under age 20 asof August 01 of the current academic year.

APAC Eligibility Requirements.

A student is considered to be eligible to compete in APAC sports competitions if they are a full-time student meeting all of the eligibility requirements of their respective school.

  • Age of Participants:
    • Must be enrolled in high school 9th-12th grades
    • A student becomes ineligible for sports activities on the day they turn 20 years old
    • APAC Aims to support transgender students while also being conscious of the safety and wellbeing of all students. Each case will be handled by the host school and participating schools.

The High School Athletics program is open to all high school students in 9th-12th grades while the Middle School program serves 6th-8th grades. Exceptions to this rule:

  • When an 8th grade student is too old to qualify for ISSFHK and/or HKSSF events, theywill be allowed to try out for a JV team. They will be assessed alongside the 9th gradestudents in tryouts.
  • 8th grade students selected will not be eligible for travel (China Cup, JPAC, other)
    • Exception:
      • Baseball and Softball teams who require players to complete a full roster(China Cup).
      • JV Roster should not have more than two 8th grade students.
